TORONTO -- The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced Wednesday that it has fined Montreal Alouettes defensive end Kitwana Jones an undisclosed amount for an illegal hit on Toronto Argonauts receiver/kick returner Chad Owens in last weekend's game played on July 15, 2011.

The hit was deemed to be illegal because Jones, while making a tackle, lowered his head and led with his helmet, which made primary contact with his opponent's helmet.
